ChristmasDay,the25thofDecember,isthebiggestfestivalcelebratedintheChristiancountriesoftheworld.AlthougheveryoneenjoysChristmasDay,itisparticularlyenjoyedbychildren,whogetveryexcitedbecauseofthePsentstheyknowtheyaregoingtoreceive.SmallchildrenbelievethattheirPsentsarebroughtbySantaClaus.SantaClaus(alsocalled"FatherChristmas)isakindofoldmanwho,thechildrenaretold,livesattheNorthPole.HetravelsthroughtheskyonasleighwhichispulledbyreindeersandloadedwithPsents.Stoppingontheroofofhouses,heentersbyclimbingthechimney.WhensmallchildrengotobedonChristmasEve,theyhangastockingattheendoftheirbeds.TheirparentswarnthemnottotrytolookatFatherChristmas,orhewillnotleavethemanything.Whentheywake,theyfindtheirstockingsfilledwithPsents.ChildrenareveryexcitedonChristmasmorningandalwayswakeupearly.

Christmasisalsoafamilycelebration.Asanymembersofthefamilyaspossiblegathertoeat,playpartygamesandwatchthespecialChristmasprogrammesonTV.
